LaCie Sponsors Latest Randall Dark Production Multimedia
Visionary Randall Dark is at it again. The high definition pioneer is currently in pre-production on a new feature film, Page Hill Battle. While there are many cool things happening with this project, we’d like to highlight one in particular – Dark is using all LaCie products to store, share, and edit his work. LaCie is also an official sponsor of the production, along with Maxell.
Page Hill Battle isn’t the first time LaCie’s products have had a large role in Dark's work; he often utilizes LaCie’s storage and multimedia technology to support his projects. To share content with clients, he’ll load his work onto a Rugged or Little Big Disk Quadra and ship these portable, sturdy drives around the globe; to support his own media library, he keeps a few high-capacity, 5big Network drives on his desk.
“I love working with LaCie. They make killer products, and my needs are so diverse,” Dark says.
Furthermore, Dark – a recognized thought leader in the creative field – sees a future for film where reliable, cost-effective storage solutions will be more vital than ever.
“The amount of information I am shooting on a production has quadrupled over the years and recording to hard drives really is the only answer,” Dark says.
Randall Dark has always been on the cutting edge of film technology. One of the first directors to embrace high definition (he started in 1986, well before the bandwagon got moving), he’s now at the head of the pack for the move into 3D. A few of Dark's projects include “The Making of Page Hill Battle,” his behind-the-scenes documentary, in 3D – as well as "3 Cities in 3D" imaged in Tennessee with Cinemarr Entertainment.

You can also keep tabs on Dark’s project by following Page Hill Battle on Facebook and Twitter. Both are updated frequently with tales from the film’s front lines, photos, and other insider news – if you’re lucky, you may even see a LaCie product make a cameo appearance.
