Within the CCTV organization, Mr. Gao Feng has worked as the Deputy Head of the Feature Department, the Head of the Documentary Office, the Deputy Head of International Department, the Head of the Youth Department, CCTV, the Head of Social Education Program Center, CCTV, Deputy Head and concurrent Secretary-General of China TV Art Committee, member of the Chinese Writers Association, Standing Director of the Chinese TV Workers' Association, Chairman of the China Broadcasting & TV Association's Documentary Committee, the Deputy Director of the Chinese TV Workers' Association, the TV Documentary Society, the Deputy Head of Film & TV Committee, China Writers Association, the Deputy Head of the Editorial Board of History of the People’s Republic of China, the Executive Deputy Head of the Image Log Production Committee of the People’s Republic of China since 1992. 
As a documentary director, Mr. Gao Feng has produced numerous serials and documentaries, and his large documentary works include “Liberation” and “Victory,” his single documentaries projects include “Wandering in the World,” “Refugee Photo of Jiang Zhaohe” and “Diary of Denia.” These productions have won numerous domestic and international awards and have made an outstanding contributions to the quality of documentary programing now being aired on CCTV, and contributed greatly to the establishment of CCTV's Science and Education Channel. His published works include; Chinese Documentary and Aesthetic Choice, Analects of TV Documentary, Comments on TV Commentary, etc., and he was recognized with the title of “100 best news workers in China” in 2002.  His motto for life is: “Read numerous books, and write several; travel a lot and find your own way”.
