Fred Miller

Fred Miller Fred Miller is a currently producing When Angels Sing, a movie based on Turk Pipkin’s novel, with Elizabeth Avellán and Shannon McIntosh.  The movie stars Harry Connick, Jr., Chandler Canterbury, Connie Britton, Kris Kristofferson, and Willie Nelson.  Fred started his career as a producer in March 1969, after he met Peter, Paul and Mary and convinced them to let him document their music and activism in The Song is Love (1970).  In the seventies, Miller began developing films with John Heyman of World Productions which include Urban Cowboy (1980), Honeysuckle Rose (1980), and  Taps (1981). In 1986, Miller worked with Al Reinert to complete the project, For All Mankind (1989), which documents the Apollo missions from 1968 to 1972.  For All Mankind was selected as the Audience Favorite and the Grand Jury Winner at the Sundance Film Festival and was nominated for an Academy Award.  Fred produced the “The Trevor Romain Show” (2008), which promoted social and emotional fitness for children.  It airs on PBS and received many awards including Cine Golden Eagle, a top Telly, and the Oppenheim Gold DVD Award.  Miller produced “Texas Entertainment News!” (1995), and produced and directed A Most Significant Journey (2000).
